Not Much A Poet Poem by Elvis Lantan

Not Much A Poet

So poets came and went
Singing songs and writing of girls loved
And I remained amongst them
Watching them love
Then watching them hate

Little by little I grew weary
Little by little I faded
I knew no verses
I could not hate
And knew nothing of love

Gradually I watched them flee
With loved ones
With tears or pages abundant in words
And I remained
In a vast absence

Slowly but surely
Everything became nothing
I vanished
And my pages remained blank
