Night So Dark Poem by Dani Kerr

Night So Dark

The night is dark but you are my moon
I sit there alone, till I see you
Your smile is the light that keeps me awake
You're the light brightens my life
Yet I know we were so close, but now so far

We were once friends till those years came to an end
Now you have forgot the fun times we shared
When we did not have a care
Now I space off and think of these times
How I now have cares and worries
About what may not be meant to be

Now these days you do not have a clue
About how much I am missing you
The things you think of me are not true
I just wish I had the guts to tell you

These nights are dark but you are my moon
When I see you, I smile just waiting for you
To become my sun who will warm my heart so numb
Please oh moon, I’m waiting for you
To notice me scared and to say the words
That could change everything.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Please read. :)
I wrote this poem last year in 7th grade when I was 13 for an English project. I'm now 14 and in 8th grade. This poem is about a guy that I had a crush on last year (7th grade 2012-2013) . I know it probably sounds a bit dumb to write it on a 7th grade crush but it was great inspiration. Anyways, in preschool my crush and I went to the same one and we were best friends until those years came to an end. We went to different campuses (same district) from k-6th grade. In 7th grade all three campuses came together for junior high and high school so my crush and I were in school together again. Through out the year he found out (along with most of the 7th grade) that I liked him. Before that happened we talked a bit and everything was fine. When he found out he basically ignored me from then on (even till now. We've talked a couple times though.) . It really did hurt me cause I just wanted to be friends with him but I hope you understand how a guy would act when stuff like that happens. So this poem is just basically my feelings towards him last year. Even a little bit now a days.
Thanks for reading!
