Night Realm Poem by Katy Tuten

Night Realm

I walk alone in the watching night,
As the moon casts down it's brilliant light
Bright and shining are the stars
Their glorious beauty outstanding by far

O, how I long for this calmness always
I dance along night's mystical realm, wondering off far away
The clouds shift over the distant moon
Their silver brilliance glistening, leaving me marooned

The wind flows through my dark flowing hair,
Caressing my face, as I walk into midnight's lair
Crickets all around, making their wondrous sound
I walk over to the edge, where the horizon meets the ground

A dark red rose lies here, beautiful it may be
Crimson red with a delicious fragrance as you can see
Reaching down slowly, I pick it up, cupping it in my hands
I take in its mysterious scent, most joyous in all the land

A slight pinch of pain on my wrist,
I look down where the rose has kissed
my bare flesh, crawling over with scarlet red
I find my way back into reality where my blood still sheds

The bleeding sun rises as the night loses its fright
Glinting off the sun's blinding rays, the shard of blood loses it's fright
