Never There Poem by Paula Lubbe

Never There

Rating: 5.0

It happened one starry night
Not too long ago
You were sitting there, waiting
But I wasn’t planning to show

I didn’t mean to tell you
And I don’t mean to care
But was I the one you were thinking of
While you were sitting there?

Come on, give your excuses
Try and explain
Give me one good reason
Why we should start over again?

You’ve had your second chance
You’ve had up to your sixth
Now you’re not much worth to me
You were just a hit and miss

Why do you still bother?
Why act like you care?
Why act like you love me?
When you were never there.
