Not Worth Taking Poem by Paula Lubbe

Not Worth Taking

This is not the life I wanted
This is not where I want to stay
Though I've made up my mind
I can't change anything, anyway

Any noise feels overwhelming
Any movement unnerves
It doesn't help me, talking
While all these thoughts spin and swerve

I wonder what to do next
Wonder how to act
Wonder whether to do something
That I can't take back

It's the story of my life
A life that's not worth taking
There is no use to carp or fight
It's a spirit that's not worth breaking
