We have the strongest country
And we thought that we were secure
We felt tough as a united nation
That there was nothing we couldn’t endure
I think we felt no one could touch us
To do us too much damage
And then one day it all changed
It was more than some could manage
A horrifying day that September
As planes were sent to crash
Directly heading to New York City
Turning beautiful buildings to ash
The skylight of the city
Was changed forever, you see
And along with that horrifying change
A feeling of safety for you and me
Nothing can amend what happened
Nothing will ever be the same
Most folks have kindness in their hearts
But a few evil people are to blame
We pray for the folks who perished
And for those who are left behind
We will never ever forget about you
We pray peace you will someday find!
