Negative Faith Poem by Far Lapenna

Negative Faith

You are walking down a lane.
A burning sun is above, lodged in blue sky.
The pine trees shimmer in a pleasant green.
The houses are picturesque.
The cobblestones you walk on shine.
But then you focus and it’s grotesque
The sun is not itself, but a towering lamppost
The trees are bare, writhing with greenflies.
The houses are insubstantial, propped up cardboard.
The cobblestones do shine, thick with grease
And the sky is painted blue.
It is a tunnel stretching endlessly on.
He will not smash the walls.
To see what is beyond these fake halls

Though, these are your introductory poems on PH, they hold a great promise for future. This poem too brings about a psychoanalytical approach towards an enchanting landscape created by beautiful words. Thanks.
