Like a gentle dace of an Autumn breeze -
Embracing songbirds above the trees, in flight;
Like a stream that runs over moss and fern -
Or the laughter of an infant, such a sheer delight...
Like restful sleep at the end of the day -
While owls hoot in barns and trees outside,
With the moon glaring down upon our earth -
And the stars brightly shining, so very alive...
God sees all, as He is the author of all life!
Sometimes subdued and cast away -
A heart may render to a lowly place,
Afraid to be what God had intended -
One of beauty and joy, and dancing in grace.
Each heart is special in the eyes of God -
But sometimes scorned by another's voice.
Lost and void of the nurturing it needs -
It can overcome, but it must make that choice.
It must not retreat from the oppressor's grasp -
But stand firm while waiting it's pleading prayer,
For God will hear the cries of His children -
He won't abandon even one, for He is always there.
For some, the needs of the heart are but a few -
While for others, their needs are much more,
It doesn't matter our life's situation -
We all have to knock on the very same door.
We love and respect the wonders that God has created -
The flowers, the oceans, the colors of Autumn leaves,
Then even more so we should do the same -
For every child that God has created
Is a brother or sister to you and me.
From the past our image of ourselves often made -
Hopefully one that leads us to a better self,
Though through abuse and neglect in many ways -
Our goodness may be void and put on a shelf.
The scars from the past won't just go away -
they remain with us wherever we trod,
and they can drag us to the ocean's floor -
if we do not release them to our heavenly God.
People need to feel that they have self worth -
And to be held with esteem and a purpose in life,
A bit of kindness goes a long, long way -
And most often can overcome any strife.
We cannot go this journey of life all alone -
For to try would be but a useless waste.
But loving and showing appreciation to all others -
Will allow us to live in the arms of God's abiding grace.
Our particular sunset in life may seem like it comes too soon -
The reason why we need face it with our family and friends,
God uses us to sustain the needs of the hearts of each other -
If indeed, our own heart is to realize His eternal end!
