Near Perfect... Poem by Hunter FitzGerald

Near Perfect...

If I were to write down
All of the things that I desire
Then I might start to sound
As if I were looking to hire

So how can I say
What must be said
That doesn’t make me sound
As if I’m out of my head

Just go ahead and say it
For that’s what I’m told
But in order to do so
I must really be bold

So say it I must
And here I go.

O Love of my life
Where have you been?
I’ve been through all hell
And then come back again..

I’ve searched all over
And yet failed times ten
At finding a soul mate
That fits my true Zen.

If I really think about it
I’m not asking all that much
Just maybe financially responsible
And independent and such

But not controlling or judgmental
A woman that can trust
Who is not easily offended
A sense of humor is certainly a must

Pretty good at conversation
But not talk too much
That’s feminine & gentle
With a very soft touch

An interest in custom cars
And motorcycles too
Dresses & hoop skirts
And maybe a 50’s style doo

A Petite little frame
Who loves to wear dresses
With a tattoo or two
That shows when she undresses

Now I wouldn’t say
Those are all of my vises
Because a cute little accent
Would also suffice

Now what could I think
Or even expect
But if you possess
All of these things
In my eyes you’d be near perfect!
