I Adore Thee So Poem by Hunter FitzGerald

I Adore Thee So

From a secret admirer…

To you, this I write
My love for you grows,
But it grows out of sight.

No hint or a clue
To you will I send
just these few words
written in secret,
So please comprehend.

Each day we cross paths
and I see you walk by.
yet courage escapes me.
for I am too shy.

O beautiful One, what would I say
If I could only get near…
O the soft things I would whisper
so gently in your ear.

I’d tell you about
All these feelings inside.
How tender I feel
When I look in your eyes.

That I long for your kiss
To touch my shy lips,
The weight of your hands
To rest on my hips,

Your warm firm embrace
To hold me so close.
But your hand in my hand
is what I desire most.

But for now, here I wait
and maybe you’ll never know…
of these feelings that I harbor,
and of how I adore thee so.
