Nature Was Uneasily Silent Poem by Gert Strydom

Nature Was Uneasily Silent

Nature was uneasily silent
as if it was waiting for something to happen,
way back in the distant hills
lightning bashed down
glared blue-white
but at the distance no thunder was heard
I could smell the distant rain,
knew that in mere moments
it was going to pour down right here.
