My Truth Poem by Victoria Hudson

My Truth

Rating: 5.0

People question why I care
They question why I try
How could I not share
The love I feel inside?

Watch the sun go down.
Experience a new day
But you never lose that frown
As the sun fades away.

We all have that burden.
The one that makes us awake at night.
Even when we shouldn't,
We sometimes give up the fight.

A peaceful mind is what we wish for
A night of pure tranquility.
But when we think about it more,
We lose focus on reality.

So why do I care?
Why should I?
Do I really have the love to share?
Or is it a trick of the mind.

I care because I've been there.
I've walked those steps
And cried those tears.
My life was a total mess.

Every night I longed for death.
Every morning I was scared to get up.
So I knew that mess.
And I almost gave up.

So I care because I wish someone did.
I care because I don't want others to feel alone.
I care because everyone should.
I care because their pain is my own.

This is why I care.
It is my truth.
It's why I share
Everything I could.

Wonderful thoughts about sharing the burden of others for giving solace that someone cares and they are not alone. In a way it is sublimation of life itself. Adorable truth about one's own self beautifully versified. Thanks for sharing.10 points.
