My Truest Desire Poem by Clara Diskley

My Truest Desire

When I think of wishes I stop for a minute
I freeze and start thinking of all crazy things
I start questioning all the possible ideas
What's that one thing that I desire so much
That I would pick out from out of the bunch
Maybe unrealistic fantasies that no one
would believe
Or my big hopes and dreams that I've
longed and have seeked
Could it be a moment reversed or changed
Something I know I want but it's so far away

When you think you're getting there, you're
falling back down
And you're breaking into pieces as you go
along
But you go anyway because you want to be
there
So you're striving this aspiration and you're
aware
That with this desire nothing can compare
No matter how spectacular or outstanding
I simply wouldn't care

It is the most essential request or plea
It's what I strive for and look to when I want
to be there
This is my truest desire that I instantly see
