~my Town~ Poem by Theodora (Theo) Onken

~my Town~

Rating: 4.9

My town is the razors edge-
Of a virtual cornucopia-
Of Ecclectic...
Looking for Art?
Its in the Big Sky!
'Round any corner-
Coffee shops-
Cappucino's and Latte's-
Aroma's steaming...
Two of the Nations-
Top Ten Universities-
Catfish bars...
Barbequed Brisket-
It will drive you crazy...
Its a town with Clyde,
And Barrow streets-
Named after one of-
Two notorious bank-
Robbers who passed-
Through many eons
Ago...
On their infamous -
Spree that got them-
Killed...
There are cottages-
With real shutters!
Brick walls and -
Fish ponds-
Cactus plants-
And Yellow Roses...
Cowboy Ranchers-
In Diesel pickups-
And Corporate Bankers-
in Bentleys...
All framed neatly-
Within the boundaries-
Of old shut down-
Oil wells-raw and gritty...
Quaint rolling hill-
With miles and miles
Of Oaks-
Sixteen miles due-
North of Buffalo Gap...
