~officially Summer~ Poem by Theodora (Theo) Onken

~officially Summer~

Rating: 5.0

The day dropped its blue on blue
Visions
Draped in yellow rays
Coloured surrounding green valleys
And Sapphire Blue Bays
The breeze
It called
Beckoning
The warmth of the sun
A season of Summer delight
Now officially has begun
The bay
Shines it's sails
Afloat
Moved by the air
Stronger than a zephyr
But lighter than gales dare
The green vallleys are alive
Picnics and blankets
Abound
Butterfly Monarchs
Flit above
While the bees buzz
Their sounds
And in the city and the bustle
Away from suburbs
And Blue Bays
Are the Summer-time dreamers
Off to the Hamptons
For the day

Marci, ah the memories..i have them as well. Yes, indeed, where have the days gone...I do miss them. Your life sounds full and filled with memories...unfortunately nothing ever stays the same...Thank You Dear Marci, for your praise of this poem! I so love all of your work, and i so identify with you and your life... Do you have more than the one son? I do love mine...he is the apple of my eye...and so gifted, he is a jack of all trades, but above all the consumate entertainer...He is a magcian! I do so identify with you on so many levels, and i am a great fan of all of your work, past to present...even the ones erased, i have them, from before. Thank you, again, so very much, for your kind words of praise on my poem! All my best to you, ox, :) Theo

This is magnificent. For me, I wish summer would never end [minus the humidy] should have been born in the Islands....I went to a Marymount boarding school [now no longer there] from age 12 until College in the Hamptons, Sag Harbor...Lord, have those towns changed...The highlight than, in the olden days, was the old Whalers Museum oh and Herb McCarthys in Southampton. Not like now at all...The years, where have they gone. Your poem, I love it. ~~marci.xo. :) ~~~~
