My Sweetest Light Poem by Nyx C Styx

My Sweetest Light

Rating: 3.5

oh my sweet remembered bliss
is there more sorrow than this?
common things by your side seen
took hold a more splendid scene
and I hailed myself as king
as I rode on cupids wing
drunk with excess of this love
grass below, the sky above
in your shadow I dispensed my sorrow
I had thee then, what care I tomorrow?
but the night shall come when he may
and to each this remembered day
a thousand stars before thee shown
a chilling wind on our love was blown
and I to thee became but a face
and thine arms, another space
a celestial sea, between thee and me
yet not even the stars outlast eternity
I wish you well, my sweetest light
if ever thou would resemble me to Night
Let me be the aspect of black
look to me, and I will always look back
