Nyx C Styx Poems

live simply
and find something to believe in
there is too much to choose from
the things to die for
...

I seek a posion sure enough for this brain
for thoughts of thee never cease
and your name resounds again and again
not even the night bringeth me peace
...

My tears have carved
the path for rivers
along the mountains of my cheeks
...

The Suns stretches her morning fire
and overcasts the darkness of the night before
what might all this world be without desire
What might we be if we stopped asking for more
...

Some say love be more pain than pleasure
I say tis some quest for treasure
to ride against the sun and tide
to sail against the seas and oceans wide
...

How do I define the the void my soul has possesed?
or the void that has possesed my soul?
By what verse or syllable or vernacular?
The battlegrounds of melancholy and merriment
...

Come feast with me upon the surface of the moon
meet me by the tamarind tree at the midnight noon

and hop frog our way upon lily pad clouds
...

The mountain stands
firm and affirming
unmoved by the moving wind
unaware of the grain
...

He is a young boy
weary, exhausted
In him lies a soul of the age One Thousand
...

Let us marry our minds tonight
Let me bleed you to the rhythm of my brazen passions,
to the tune of my unrelenting lust
...

Cease your awe for the Moon
Her proximity to you makes her all the more brilliant

Reserve your awe instead, to that distant flickering star
...

where has the good gone
was it ever even there?

I flake in the wind
...

it seemed the stroke of summer heat
had dried up all my tears
but at the gentle chill of tonight's autumn wind
those rivers are refreshed for years
...

Your gold decadent lives
delicate delicacy of the worm
Your children and your wives
will constitute its vile form
...

the Devil was an angel once
the wise man was a dunce
Love may transmute to hate
the rushed moment will wait
...

I wait on some notion of hope
that exists as part of fantasy or myth
that at this point probably can't discern
me from who I was or who I was with
...

That there be hearts to men
that take more than their measure
the take all and give none
those empty chests of treasure
...

Dress me up like a bride in white
Lift up the curtains and let in the light

Never let your cheek bedew a tear
...

watching the leaves change colour
into the red of a fire that burns itself out
and surmounts into the crunch beneath my feet
I ask is this what love is all about?
...

Live Simply

live simply
and find something to believe in
there is too much to choose from
the things to die for
and the things to live for

content yourself with simplicity
the pattering rain on the window sill
or when the clouds don't shield you from the view
of stars that light the nightly heavens
live simply
and love the small gentle things that make it
to your doorstep
somethings are too heavy to carry inside
and must be put down
for someone else to pick up
for someone else to love better
then you could

live simply
and don't cry at betrayals
of friends and those who could have been
your own fingers will betray you
to the dust
so live simply and know
black hair turns white
and then brown again when stained soil
nothing endures
laughter and tears
from the distance
sound the same
