My Own Best Therapist Poem by Brittany Roper

My Own Best Therapist

Rating: 4.0

I'm my own best therapist
And my very worst patient
They say,
The hardest advice to follow
Is the advice you give yourself.
We know our hopes,
Our dreams,
Our fears
Many put limits on themselves
Restraining full potential
We know what we are comfortable with,
Not what we are capable of.
Others may see possibilities
While we see boundaries
We define impossible.
So I may not be by own best therapist
But the best advice,
Is still the advice you give yourself.
Listen.
Learn.

Welcome to Poemhunter, Brittany. We can do what we think we can, and I think you can do a lot. Thanks for this poem.

Wish you were my therapist. The best advice is your advice ..... and it's free. 10+

Many people do needlessly put limits on themselves. Most of us can do a lot more than we think we can.
