My Life Story Poem by Randy McClave

My Life Story

If I could write myself a story
About the greatest story ever told,
Which is full of happiness and glory
As I have walked down life's road.
It would be over a hundred pages
It would be written with ink and sweat,
And each chapter would be of different life stages
And not one word would I ever regret.
The story would be of my father
And the ethnics in me which he did instill,
How he never saw me as a nuisance or a bother
And because of him I am honest and I never did steal.
The story would also be of my mother
And how she taught me to never judge,
How no one was ever better than another
And because of beliefs or of races never to hold a grudge.
The story would also be of my siblings
Of all of my brothers and sisters dear,
Of our fighting and arguments which family brings
And also of our pain and sadness and fear.
The story would be of my son
And how a good honest man he has become,
The many victories that he had fought for and won
Knowledge and honor and his word became his sum.
A story though I cannot write
Even though that's the story I have lived and I know it,
It still brings me great joy and much delight
But, I'm not an Author I am a poet.
