My Life, My Music Poem by Randy McClave

My Life, My Music

When you stayed
I remember what song I played,
It caused my heart to race
It brought joy upon my face.
I never once felt defeat
So, I played that song to repeat,
And whenever I still hear that song
With a smile I always still sing along.
I remember the song I played.

Music it is my life
It was played when I was born and when I took a wife,
It is part of my everyday
I even sing and play music when to God I pray.
And when the times I have been hurt
Music doesn't leave or ever dessert,
Whenever I need help or a quick remedy
Then I always recall that one special melody.

When unto God I have prayed
When my love had left and strayed,
I still remember that one special tune
Unto which I was not immune.
It brought anger unto my guise
But, it also made me wise,
Indeed my world was ending
My soul through music I was defending.
I remember the song I played.

Music it is my soul
Whether it be rap, country or rock n roll,
It is my comfort and my feelings
And it is my therapist and my healings.
I have a song for every desire and mood
I enjoy it as many enjoy good food,
And when to the earth I am laid
I know the song that I want played.
