My Life-Partner Poem by Dr John Celes

My Life-Partner

Rating: 4.5

A flower-bud had bloomed one day,
Into a pretty flow’r;
Her beauty was immense, all say;
She longed for her lover.

Upon the plant, she was the best,
Attractive to the core;
She looked so gorgeous, Nature-blest;
With dew of dawn, still more.

She stayed for years and grew with grace;
A bee was heaven’s choice;
To him, she wore a smiling face,
Perfuming, in good poise.

He took her nectar with much joy,
And planted kisses fine;
Embracing her so fondly, ‘boy! ’
He sang her songs divine!

They shared their stories with great love;
Years passed off, both were old;
Her bee came flying like a dove;
She had two seeds of gold!

Their joy was great and made them cry;
Their seeds would want good soil;
And form their pretty plants on own;
They stayed with none to spoil.

Each flow’r’s destined for just one bee;
Some do not get a spouse;
God plans a happy family
With home, a pleasant house.

But live, we must as per His wish
–An instrument of bliss;
This world is sadly so selfish
–We can afford to miss.

If life be lived as per God’s way,
All things will smoothly pass;
Our heart and soul await His day;
God feeds His sheep, best grass!

Yet, worrying helps no one in life;
Each morn brings on a dawn;
God plans our future despite strife,
Like deer attending fawn!

Our loveliness returns with Christ;
Nothing can make sad one;
But do our duty, we must first,
God gave His only Son!

Fondly dedicated to my better half
Mrs. Mercy Rajam Caroline, for my Retirement day

The image of the flower and the bee is wonderfully elaborated, a pleasure to read.
