My Last Thanksgiving With My Little Brother Poem by Brooke Audino

My Last Thanksgiving With My Little Brother

Rating: 2.8

My little brother
sat at the dinner table,
like every year after the other,
and wasn't able,
to say what he's thankful for.

Me as his sister,
listened to my mom yell,
'Listen here mister,
you better listen well!
There has to be something your thankful for! '

'Mom, shut up, '
he cried,
and took a drink of his seven-up,
'You know i've tried and tried,
but afterlosing my girlfriend to death,
caused by some idiot using meth,
I will never be thankful again! '

I held my little brother in my arm,
and held him tight with all my love,
telling him that 'she is in no harm.
For, the Lord has taken her to his home above,
and she is wating for you day after day,
and hoping you will stop thinking this way.'

'Brooke you're wrong,
the feelings I had for her were super strong,
we were going to do things,
going to be things,
but now it's all gone! '

He ran up to his bed,
and hit his head,
until it bled,
and now...
he's gone too...
I miss him so...
and have a long way to go...
til I will see him again...
