My Heart Poem by Rik Bertrand

My Heart

Rating: 4.0

I wear my heart on the outside, for the entire world to see,
Right out in the open so you all can see that I bleed.
Its cracked, worn, falling apart and slowly wasting away
But I will wear my heart on the outside until my dying day.

The world must know all the pain that it bares
It must see all the creases, the nicks and the tears.
All the trials and tribulations, and the sad situations,
All the love that it has lost and the dying simulations.

The heart is a life line, it manages the soul, and it can be warm or cold.
It can be lent out to friends and loved ones, but it can never be sold.
I wear it on the outside, so you can be reminded of its worth,
To remind you all the reason we were put on mother earth.

The Heart is made of glass, it can be broken, and it can be smashed
It's not easy to mend a broken heart, of this I know alas.
My heart has paid the cost in ohhh so many ways
And I shall where it for all to see, until my dying days.

REB (Jan 2012) Dedicated to my Heart, I'm sorry for your pain
