My Child; My Cross To Bear Poem by asaolu kolawole ifedayo

My Child; My Cross To Bear

MY CHILD; MY CROSS TO BEAR

See how thinner the date lies
When in the midnight scene
Some sonorous tears abound.
See how memories are fading
a wish once forgotten for remembrance
rioting dream in darkness
calling two plus two its nine

Beneath the tanny sunset incline
With a boy-like cross on neck
And june climate daring my skin
O! Father, don't worry okay
But where is my BOBO drink?
An innocent child estranged
Comforting my heart by barter
Where two bond of lillies
Are now sprouting in the weed
Sitting on the fence of doubt
A loner in the forest of neglect
Where to be or not to be?

And am just thirty
But clock of age made me sixty
Releasing its speed in tension
Vision of Christ across the wall
When the sound of his defeating drum
Called Christ back for passion
My child; my beloveth son
On whom my feet I wear
But now too heavy for dance
Along the path of thorns
Praising my concubine singer
Whose hand of deceit
Is now robbing my back with fire

But how long will this journey be?
And what season will the tender HER be?
My rewarding cross
For whom king's palace I dare
That if I die, I die

Of thy father's mind dancing low
With its fear now greater than faith
But if along this journey I suddenly paused
O! Let love be my sweetest hymn
But remember me in thy diary
And thus say this to thy brother:
That when thou shall grow old to choose
Never thou marry in haste.
