My Canary Poem by Donald R Wolff JR

My Canary

Would you love me my canary
Would you love me if I sing
Pretend that I have feathers
With all golden covered wings

Teach me my canary
Let us fly so ever free
See little hats on top of people
From high above the highest trees

I am lonely my canary
Will you become a feathered friend
I will read to you from my story books
Once I really can

For now my little songbird
It is time to go to bed
Soon we'll meet in a magical place
A golden magic land

We'll fly across an ocean
Play so much, Let's Pretend
If only till the morning light
I will have fun with my best friend
