I am starting
one more lap
around the park
as she is leaving.
We wave our greetings
and just as I wonder
where her little dog is
she turns her head back
and leashless
and instant
he trots across the street
to walk beside her
from the tree
in the park
where freedom
had led his nose.
Dogs love a little freedom, but they never leave their masters for long! A walk along the beach brings such scenes and chances for casual exchange of friendship! A lovely poem! As Susan has remarked, the snap shot of a moment!
Thank you, Valsa. I may have told you I’m more partial to dogs than cats. But with my wife’s preference for cats and our living situations we’ve only had cats. Independent as they can be it’s interested me how even they can show a preference for being near us. -Glen
I like this snapshot of a moment- -not a monumental moment or a scary moment, just a moment that can happen and be ignored except this time your heart photographed it and your soul wrote about it and your mind smiled. Great piece. 10+++++++++++++++++++++++++++
thanks, susan. it struck me that this kind of silent communication and trust is essential in marriage and other close relationships. hoping you're tip top, glen

Observing Dog and writing a nice poem from perception is really very interesting. Freedom led his nose. What an amazing poem this is really! ..10
thanks, kumarmani. seeing this reminded me of the kind of love that allows the loved-one the space, the freedom, to pursue its interests and to grow. -glen
