Mother Poem by Abbie Meadows

Mother

You stand alone in thick, blue water.
It is clear to me the things you taught her.
You’re unlike any tree I’ve ever seen;
The way your reflection smiles back at me.
The moss that grows does not reflect your charm,
Neither does the strength within your arm.
It shows just how gracefully you’ve grown,
So know that you are really not alone.
The taller the reflection that is laid
The more of a great impact you have made;
So I sure hope that one day I will be
As tall as the one you have been for me.
