Truth Of The Dare Poem by Abbie Meadows

Truth Of The Dare

A fib is a single moment in time
When everything is wrong
And begins a new crime
You try to be strong
But the words just slip out
Then you are stuck
And you start to feel doubt

A lie to a fib and back to a lie
You’re stuck with a stack
A thousand miles high
You try to get back
Make your way to the top
But you lose your grip
And you start to drop

Now you see the pile that you made
It takes up the room
You wish it would fade
You decide it’s time to clear the air
And tell everyone the truth of the dare
