Mood Reversal Poem by Kent Krauss

Mood Reversal

What can you do to jolt yourself out of a bad mood, even if it's had a cause
Whether out of your control or not, it seems to have broken a few laws
Along your life, such as the rule that you need to treat others more kindly
Rather than staying in and feeding your grudge, stumbling along blindly
Regardless of the good you may see, even at a distance that seems far
So you readjust, turn your attitude around, take a little drive in the car
Out to a favorite secluded spot where you can be alone with your thought
That you have to come to grips with this situation, find the solution you've sought
So you gaze at the beautiful blue in the sky, ponder the shape of a cloud
That happens to be wafting overhead silently, not the least bit loud
And you count your true blessings in this world, a wonderful, full life
Someone to share it with, such as your beautiful, wonderful wife
Along with the multiple blessings that have poured from the many years
You've been together, and it does lift your spirit, dries the pitying tears
Putting you back on track, with your gleam of a better, newly thought plan
That will put you back where you belong, allowing your maker to help you be all you can
