Leverage Poem by Kent Krauss

Leverage

Feeling the need for an advantage, you may try to gain that edge in an unsavory manner
By a bit of underhanded dealing or behind-the-back conversation to carry your banner
Rather than simply being honest, up-front, and doing everything out in the light
Where ideas may be discussed and debated, have both sides seen, from left and right
But as your dishonorable plan takes shape, even you can't stomach the tactic you're using
So you decide to scrap the intrigue, take the decent approach, even if you end up losing
