Mistyville Morning Poem by Matt Lyder

Mistyville Morning

So it was raining all night long
And it will rain again I know,
As in this early morning hour
Through downtown square I stroll.

Beneath the skies of white and grey
A gentle touch of ocean breeze;
It soon will grow real rash and cold -
As Chris De Burgh would sing, 'la bise'.

I pass along the small cafes,
Book stores and tiny barber shops.
The town lies, the town waits
So patiently for the raindrops.

A street musician with his sax,
'Love Story' theme flows through the air -
Right by the First National Bank,
He sits there, freezing on the stairs.

And walking slowly hand in hand
There is a couple, cute and young.
Today's a cold and cloudy day
But in their world there's only sun.

And sadness, comfy and so soft,
Once more it fills the world of mine.
I lift my gaze towards the clouds,
And yes, it's such a lonely sky.

I like your poems very much. Wat a pity you write them in English only! * By the way, Happy Birthday! Don' worry. Be happy!
