Midnight Cucamelon Vine (Miniature Cucumber) Poem by Geoffrey Fafard

Midnight Cucamelon Vine (Miniature Cucumber)

Rating: 5.0

in the monsoon downpour last night
It poured cats, dogs, frogs
And pounding rain again (120 ml)
In 6 short beautiful thundering hours
In the lost time before dawn
I woke up laughing with the dog
Then went out the back to check
All of my green children
They were all in tact
Bless their little lime green hearts

So I perched in awe
Watching and listening
To the intensity
of it all..........

After midnight. Ears, nose and eyes to the rain, in the mood, in the lost northern tropics.Gotta do this old twisted soul a lot of good.
