Memories Of You Poem by tallulah montegue

Memories Of You

When my heart is filled with memories of you
I see myself by the lake
Bellowing like a wounded animal
With tears flowing down its cheeks
Filling it to overflowing with misery

Alone in the night I stand in the dark
The city lights behind me
I weep torrents of rain
Washing the city with my pain
For the only daughter I ever had and can ever have
My darling daughter, lost to the world
I weep and wish the ground would suck me down into its depths and hold me there for ever

Moving. The despair is enveloping.
