Memories Poem by Ebone' Ingram

Memories

Rating: 5.0

when i walk through
those halls
sit in
those rooms
i think of back then
back then,
when i was small, naive
and Brandon could still carry me;
when Keia and i could laugh so much harder;
when Andre and i were so close
that growing up couldn't come between;
when Brian made fun of me but
i knew he still loved me:
those waves of memories
return to me like high tide
and i can't help but cry
aching for those days
when i was too young to worry
and life was kind
and family was all that mattered.

This one is very tender and sweet and from the heart. I hope at fifteen, though, you're still making all these beautiful memories. Uriah

Very fresh slice of Prose-like work, young lady...fifteen, yeah, if i reach all the way back into the outre spectrum of my Minds-Eye, I CAN RECALL 1972...Just not sure if it would want to recall me....I have read several of your works, Ebone, and I am impressed with the solid handle you have on the base principles of both Poetry and Prosework.You are tapping your well of potetial astutely, & something inside tells me that aside from creative Writing, that Drama & Theater may also be a part of your equation, if it isn/t already...Good Luck....''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''FJR

Good poem, growing up is hard to do, but it's bittersweet, we can look back on those times and know that they were good and forever with us.
