Meeting Someone Genuine Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Meeting Someone Genuine

If the only caring you did for me,
Was to pretend it done and successfully...
Guess which one of us benefitted,
By meeting someone genuine...
Who despises pretenders.
To leave me not the one left guessing.

But then again that would mean,
I should express my appreciation to you.
And...I do.
Afterall...
I did benefit by meeting someone genuine.
Without a doubt to question or left to guess.
