Me Poem by Vera Sidhwa

Me

I looked in the water,
And saw no face,
No reflection,
None of my ways.

I continued the stare,
Still none could compare,
The lack of a siloutte in the water.
The lack of anything there.

Could it be that that was me,
There in the water of life?
A non-existent entity,
A non-existent life?

Then why was I,
Different than my non-image,
Which was different from me?

It was because my self-image was bad.
