Mask Of Happiness Poem by Rene Bennett

Mask Of Happiness

Rating: 4.5

People say I'm doing well
I thank them but never tell
How i really feel inside
That would only hurt my pride

I wear this mask of happiness
So no one sees my loneliness
Burning deep inside my heart
Daily tearing me apart

Depression rears its ugly head
With confusion which I dread
At living yet another day
Trying to chase my fears away

Yes, I wear this mask of happiness
So no one see my loneliness
Causing tears to sting my eyes
Yet, no one ever sees me cry

Disappointment is a part of me
With out it, where would I be?
Sadness, anguish along with sorrow
Will be with me still tomorrow

So, I wear this mask of happiness
So no one sees my loneliness
Feelings no one ever sees
Belongs to no one else but me
