March 15 Poem by Sedale Salera

March 15

Rating: 2.7

Thank you Mom, Thank you Dad
Because of you two, I am very glad
In San Francisco, Mom you pushed me out
You held me happily in your arms, even when I would cry and shout
Then later that day, Dad you looked upon so proudly
You were so proud, to be a daddy

As the years went by, I gave you guys hell
But you knew I loved you two, so you said “oh well”
What I really admire, is your will to carry on
Because being a parent is hard, thank you Marietta and Sean

We really never had much money, so you were never in the mood
But you always had money if I needed food
Starting a family is hard; I can’t imagine your pains
I want to let you two know, I’m proud to have your blood running through my veins
No matter what I’ll do, you both will have my support the whole way
All the sacrifices you both made, I can never repay

March 15th, every year you two always celebrate
Every year I realize, how much you two are great
16 years ago today, I breathed my first breath
Thank you both, for loving me, you two are the best
