Many a time in life, we all behave
Like Pontius Pilate, washing his hands off;
Many a time like Judas Iscariot,
We do the things we shouldn’t for money’s sake.
Many a time, we forget God’s commands
And fall a prey to temptations galore;
Many a time we preach to others what
We ourselves cannot do with perfection.
Many a time, we nail Christ on the cross,
By sinfulness and heinous crimes so oft;
Many a time, we hurt our neighbors much
By words and deeds – by things we can avoid.
Many a time, we’re blind despite our sight,
And turn a deaf ear when our Maker calls;
Many a time, we take the road to hell,
Enjoying sinful pleasures, God dislikes.
Many a time, we waste our precious time,
When we could use it well for sake of God;
Many a time, we fail to live aright,
Ignoring our God-given conscience.
Many a time, we do most things futile,
Forgetting transience of our earthly life;
Many a time, we fail to reconcile
With God, and miss the road to heaven’s light.
