Man On A Mission Poem by Gordon D Wilkinson

Man On A Mission

Rating: 5.0

You are my first call
First, right in the hall
Opening up as I rang the doorbell
My eyes popped, my pencil to the floor fell
Eyes slowly wandering
Thoughts deep and pondering
Undressing you with my eyes
Wishing time slows not flies
Each item disposed into a pile
Soon stood there with no more than a smile
I shake my head and do a double take
My imagination too many liberties do take
Speaking you bring me back
Back to reality take my mind off this track
That smile tells me that you guessed
Trying hard you put my resolve to the test
Taking a deep breath, pushing out your chest
My mind went into a gymnastic whirl
Being hit on by such a beautiful girl
Like a Lolita of my dreams
No my inner self screams
Snapping my eyes quickly away
I better leave I cannot stay
“My husbands away” I hear you say
“He will not be home until tonight he is gone all day”
“Well then really I don’t know what to suggest, madam”
“I will leave him a card, my name is Adam”
Quick as a flash
To my van I dash
Far away from temptation
Out of this situation
I am only the repair technician
Not a Chippendale on a mission
