Angered By Silly Words Poem by Gordon D Wilkinson

Angered By Silly Words

Rating: 4.5

Uncontrollable anger twisted up inside
Looking for some outer relief
Boiling over without apparent reason
Stoked by stupid half suggestions

Venomously thoughts expressed
Barbs sarcastically spat
Blatantly without thought or immediate regret
Expunging the souls spleen

Maliciously
Sometimes deliciously
Calmness after the tirade
Pricking the conscience
Tinged with remorseful thoughts
Unspoken the apologies held back

Only fuelling another’s hate
Compounding the situation further
Blackening the heart just a little more
Killing fond memories
Burning them in the mind
Leaving the bitter taste of loves ashes

Crushed beyond repair
Finally leading to despair
Further slicing through the bonds
Severing the spirits attachments
Opening up a chasm
So wide, it is impossible to breach

All this, is for what?
One misinterpreted suggestion or word
So fickle understandings mistress
Proving the heart and feelings incompatibility
Far apart, yet intermingled in the mind

Note. This is from observing discord from some who i know and from their words to me later.

Sometimes anger can be a fine vehicle in poetry.

Amazing how words and thoughts can sometimes feel like knives piercing your soul. The practice of self control can take you a long way.
