Love Symposia Poem by Ellen Rose Guilaran

Love Symposia

Skepticism is your weapon of choice for these emotions
And I was made of heart of stone
It was mellowness perhaps
With it, melted a façade
Revealed a heart of glass

I'm begging for you to hold me
Beyond superficial tensions
My winds screamed at your face yet ignored
It's not only you who needs a solid space
To hold one's ground

Tell me, that we get to weather this storm
Created by my airy trials and your deep ocean waves of emotions
Together bore a series of unfortunate calamities
We have all of it; storms, tornados, floods, and hurricanes

Every path of war we took left a wake of destruction
And every time it hurts, that's when love grew taller
That is when my love comes back stronger
It's when I grew flowers, plants, and poisons
That was when I realized you are worth every hurt

I'm begging for you to take my hand
To be here and hold me
I don't want your saving
But when the world is against me---, would you be there for me?
Right back home, where you are waiting for me

We can thick as thieves if you want, babe
I am always on the side of justice
But if you murdered, I'll hep you hide the body
And you'll help with the getaway car

It's so funny how I'm a team player
Making compromises for a team
But couldn't make plans for the one I love
And one who loves me

I lost sight of the important
I played part of the fool
Mourning, as if I did my part
Only to be used as a tool

How can I ever move on from you, darling
You're the man I wanted to stay
Was making plans to have a family
Secretly plotting, as if writing with invisible ink hoping you'll discover
But you'll never discover unless I told you

My love is enduring and long-lasting
One for the ages; one for the aged
Two of us intertwined in dreams and in bedsheets
But with a home, you and I can call our own
