Love Letter 1 Poem by Shelby Barker

Love Letter 1

I'll bring you lodges of blankets, you're afraid of the weather bringing cold feet and shivers up your spine and out your mouth you can't control, even though you're warm

I'll bathe in liquid ribbon for you, for when you question your ability to untangle from me, so that you can stretch away and return to my caresses unafraid

I'll dance with you through time, pardoning your stubborn toes, so like a deep descent the future flows in, without an edge, after our grace and our premise

I'll dress your settings in iridescence and reflections, I'll smooth your cheeks with fervent fingers of ember, remove the blush of a second guess, and I'll show you ways to open and close yourself without scars or pain with the floods of my adoration to cleanse you.

I promise, darling, the lights will not blind you. My Love, my love for you will guide you to yours.
