Love Is Real Poem by Idiongo Ebong

Love Is Real

Long all in my life in this world, it hurts,
I had grown to believe that there is no love,
In this world that burns like embers,
Because, I have seen many pains and deaths,
I have seen what betrayal has done to us,
But now, as I know you for the past year,
In all, I have come to believe I my heart,
That love is for real;
That happiness exists!

Many, before these glorious days of hope,
When I wake up in the morning,
Am greeted with terrible nightmare of my past.
I sit in cold shivers,
Covering my body in shame and in pains,
Thinking all through what this live holds for me.
And them I made the solemn promise to myself,
That all is best for me in life,
If I stop to love no more!

I made myself prisoner of my rage,
I locked myself up in my room,
The walls looked so empty and life less,
Big and wide like the proverbial wall of Jericho.
I lie down and let your hurt thrust deep,
And empty myself to the poisons of your bite,
And the pains covered my up,
Like the Red Sea over Pharaoh and his Chariots.

But on this day that I made you dear,
You offered a new hope for me; and
Gave to my burning spirit a new life.
There and then, I have come to know
That happiness is real and sound.
And now that I am going with you,
I have to believe dear,
That love is for real!
That happiness exist!

Please stay one with me and on,
Let me praise you, my love.
Let us defeat together our enemies
And send to the great beyond the devils with.
For love is real;
And happiness exist!

Love is real - oh yes. Ya right. The fact that bad things happened yesterday does not take out a better tomorrow. We look on the past and we learn from it but they become lessons for our better tomorrow. Without yesterday and today there wouldn't be a tomorrow. I love your poem most of all I love the inspiration. God bless you
