The Gloria Poem by Idiongo Ebong

The Gloria

Who can see those bright stars above the heavens?
Who can hear these songs above the heavens?
See how it illuminates like the brightness of the sun
See how it invigorates like the waters of the beautiful river
And this blessed voices, dear, like the princes of the Heavens
See even our sheep can hear them
The sweet melody of Christmas

Never in our lives have we seen such, shepherds
For the hundreds of years we have spent in the fields
Whenever, in the days of old has day break at midnight
With the melodious voice to stir our ears to life
May this song not end in our ear, not for once
May it bring to our soul life that shall not pine
Even our sheep see with us,
The beautiful days of Christmas

Run down to the far hills of Jerusalem
Ring out the bells to the far East and the West
Bring, to these very spot, the whole house of Jacob
Let us sit on this beautiful fields with apt attention
And drink to this day the wine of salvation
For greener is our pastures in the desert
On the eve of this beautiful day
