Love Horizon Poem by naux ner

Love Horizon

Against the horizon, as I slowly watch,

The coming together of the setting sun and the sea.

Like two lovers that can never meet,

For what seems like an eternity.

The deceiving line that joins but separates them,

How painful, I must say,

For the setting sun and the sea

To be so close, yet so far away.

A mirage of hope, like the meeting of both,

Falsifies whatever truth that's left,

Of the saying that love will find a way

That it'll last us through life and death.

As the orange rays eventually dim,

The sea, back to its original blue,

When breaking apart is imminent,

I realise, reality is ever so cruel.

Night crashes down upon the sea and sun,

And smashes the boundary where they meet but part.

It'll be a few more hours that seem like lifetimes,

Where the bliss and misery will yet again start.

I wonder if you're looking too,

At the same sea and sun.

Thinking about

All the things that we've done.

Fate might have brought us together,

The two of us, just you and me.

And if we take our chances,

Then maybe we'll start to see.

If not, it'll forever remain as such,

Where tears of regret will wet us on nights like these.

Like what keeps the sea and sun apart.

Like how nothing else will make us feel at ease.

Till the day we grieve over a story of lost love,

This moment is here to stay for us.

And I'll be the night sky and you'll be the stars,

Where the setting sun, deep blue sea and heartless horizon won't matter, at long last.
