Lost Arc Poem by Lillianythe

Lost Arc

I watched the sun set over the last mountain,
As the darkness covered the land,
The only land left before the darkness takes over is covered with rain,
But the rain falls straight through my hand,

I take a deep breath as the darkness gets closer,
Waiting for my body to be swept away,
Just a little bit further,
And with the wind I began to sway,

My heart was racing,
Only a couple of meters now,
The child in me began crying,
I would get away if I only knew how,

The darkness came,
The child inside stopped crying,
We both felt the same,
Curiosity was filling,

There was just nothing,
No pain to feel,
Just the silence that was surrounding,
There was no sun light to steal,

Suddenly I realized I was falling,
Wind was blowing past my face as if it would have without the darkness,
As if it would if I was flying,
Something crept over me after a while, sadness,

My whole world was gone,
I took my last breathe that I can remember,
The child inside was gone,
My heart burned like an ember,

My eyes opened to see my room,
I was shaking from my nightmare,
I got to my feet and went to my door,
I opened the door and had to stare,

Why is it that I can’t see the hallway,
I could hear people around me watching,
Were they thinking of something to say,
Then I knew what was happening,

Only my world was the one going dark,
I was the only one who couldn’t see,
I was the only one on the lost arc,
Only my world was becoming empty..
