Long Before You Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Long Before You

Long before you

Unlike then
"Hill" is now, "Mountain"
Many eyes look at USA.

If ears were seen,
One could say:
"What the hell? "

Look back at Nineteen-Seventies
The time of Tom Jones and Elvis,
Long and metal were the cars,
Girlfriend smiled, sat to the right…

With no seat belt, free, not yet tied,
Had no leash to feel like a dog
The left on the wheel, right hand was
With the hand, leg, or hair of love…

Genocide was in Vietnam
Generous US sent napalm
Praising the West was a fault,
Fallacies, Fallacy, Red herring!

Now, Yemen, Syria, and Iraq
Afghanistan, Arabs, Persian Gulf
All blames are aimed at Iran…

Fallacies, fallacies
Red herring!

Years ago, Yemen, Ethiopia
The North and South Poles, Siberia,
Knew how to live and Mesopotamia
Led making cities, to civilise…

Now, fallacy is philosophy
USA bullies Middle East,
Israel can kill anyone
Using bullets and US guns!

Fallacy, fallacy, Red Herring!
