Loner On The Road Poem by Randy McClave

Loner On The Road

If you ever meet a loner on the side of the road
Whatever that he tells you, it is not the whole truth told,
It's not because of his appearance or the thought of being rude
And it's not because that he likes the idea of solitude.
He doesn't like the idea of being all by himself
And he doesn't care about impressing others or even wealth,
And you will not ever hear him complain or ever moan
Because, he is on the side of the road and he is walking all alone.
He might live by himself in a three bedroom house
And he has no children or a girlfriend, and not even a spouse,
He orders out food when he wants something to eat
And when he goes to a restaurant at his table it's only him to seat.
Why is he all alone many people might think or ask
And why is he always wearing a solitude man's mask,
Why doesn't he want companionship many might want to know
Why doesn't he want to spiritual grow.
Maybe it's because he tried to blend in this world once before
And it had cut and hurt him straight to the core,
He then knew that he couldn't change his belief or who he was
Even if it was for true companionship, or ever for love.
He had been used and hurt and cheated on many times in the past
He still remembers the pain and how they laughed,
Then he knew that in this world he could never be part of a them
People, just kept disappointing him.
