Lonely Site Poem by Malibongwe Mfiki

Lonely Site

Alone I stand in this dark
desolate shore,
Watching the sun sail across...
the noon sky,
in its dreary lonesome tour

Alone I stare
Solemnly up at the face of the moon
wondering what fate could befall me
If I Would ever fly there
I watch the crimson sky in the lonely night of june
the question nagging me, is life ever fair?
Thinking of my little brother who slipped out my life
before I even had wits enough to understand or care
alone I thread
In this cruel deserted road
painfully asking, what happened to my lad?
What happended to my blood?
alone in the midst of the storm and rain
I stand and think, though I have met and fought with pain
Sure I am that my boat will never sink

Alone I sail
through the dark canals of this wicked life
lika a man in exile hoping to get home to his wife
Alone I survey the lonely site
praying that God will change my plight

Sadly you have slipped away from the shoreline of happiness, sailing with your sorrowfilled heart, I wish you a safe place to anchor, where thoughts can be returned to beautiful memories. PEACE and may you find the comfort of safe harbor.
